As a Multimedia Illustrator in the United States Army, I designed layouts for the NCO Journal and worked within demanding publication deadlines.
These selected magazine spreads show an early foundation in typography, composition, photo illustration, and production. My contribution here is visual design and layout; article and photography credits remain with the contributors named in the original spreads.
A rhythm for reading.
Feature openers use scale and imagery to establish a story’s tone. Inside spreads shift to structured columns, captions, callouts, and carefully placed photographs.
The layout needs to sustain attention across longer articles while keeping the text comfortable to read. Each story has its own character within the publication format.

Editorial design established the habits I bring to brand and campaign work today: a clear hierarchy, deliberate composition, respect for content, and careful production under deadline.
